About Package Costa Rica

The Staff of Package Costa Rica would like for our customers and potential customers to know who we are. We are more than just a voice on the other end of a phone line or some anonymous person who responds to all your emails. We are people too! And we are here to let you know that we care about Costa Rica and want all people that come here to have a wonderful experience of this magnificent country.

Scott Bowers - Owner and President

Scott is from the Carolinas and first came to Costa Rica in 2001 to broker a deal with one of the top for-profit private universities in Costa Rica and Panama. That deal took two years to complete and forever altered Scotts life. In course of its completion Scott began to look for other business opportunities (or excuses to travel frequently to Costa Rica) and came up with the idea for Package Costa Rica. The rest, as they say, is history. Scott now resides full-time in Costa Rica. He loves all aspects of Latin culture and even can hold his own in the discos with the locals dancing Salsa or even Tico Cumbia! Scott has four great kids who reside in South Carolina. They are Michelle (17), Zachary (15), Emily (12) and Rebekah (10). Their pictures appear below as well as a link to a report Zachary recently did at school on Costa Rica (which by the way is chock full of interesting data about Costa Rica). Needless to say, Scott is very proud of his kids.

Mario Montero - The Package Guru

Scott Bowers Mario was born in Costa Rica. His nick-name around the office is the Package Guru. Mario enjoys traveling, sports, music, reading and having good time. He has a Bachelors degree in Hotels & Tourist Management at Universidad Latinamericana de Ciencia en Tecnología (ULACIT), which he received years ago. For sports he likes soccer as most of the Latin people, American Football and Golf. He plays soccer with Alessandro Cirla El Che on Saturdays. His favorite Costa Rican soccer team is Saprissa. He was very proud last year when Saprissa won third place in the World Cup. He likes Electronic music, Pop, Regaetton and Cumbia the most, but not Salsa. Mario is also an avid reader. He has no kids at present, but is thankful that his parents and two brothers are alive a living close to him here in Costa Rica.

Alessandro Cirla (aka el Che) - Office Manager

Scott Bowers Che was born in Italy. His father is Italian and his mother Peruvian. He has lived all over, including Italy, Argentina, Peru and Nicaragua before settling in Costa Rica. He speaks English, Spanish and Italian. When Che was young his parents traveled a lot, but when they arrived in Costa Rica they decided to stay! That was 24 years ago. So basically Che is a Tico. Che is a rabid sports fan and still can be found at Sabana Park playing soccer on most Saturdays. He has three beautiful children. They are Jose Daniel (14), Sofia (11) and Carolina (4). In addition to his numerous duties with Package Costa Rica, Che also owns two souvenir shops. He has a degree in accounting from Academia Atenaia in San Jose, Costa Rica.
